Web design is now one of the most popular internet professions in the world. There are hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of web designers in the world.
However, like any other professions, there are some individuals that stand out among the pack. These designers have taken web design to another level.
This list comprises individuals who are regarded the world over as the best in the profession. For clarity purpose, they are not listed in a particular order.

Simon Collison is based in England. He is a designer, author, and speaker. He is an experienced designer who shares his wealth of experience with other designers and wannabes via conferences and books.

This web designer is undoubtedly one of the most popular web designers it the world. He has authored a lot of web design books such as Designing with Web Standards.
